About the Event
We are very excited to announce our last guest lecture of the current academic year. On the 6th of May, from 15:00-17:00 in Wijnhaven room 3.48, Dr. Valdivia Rivera will give us a guest lecture titled “Urban Latin America: the multiple faces of Inequality.” Dr. Valdivia Rivera is a lecturer of Latin-America Studies at Leiden University. She is specialised in state-social movements and democratisation processes, with a main focus on Bolivia. Dr. Valdivia Rivera was born in Bolivia and came to live in the Netherlands in 1997. She obtained a BA in Cultural Anthropology and completed the two-year Research Master Programme on Latin American and Amerindian Studies at Leiden University. In 2009, she was awarded a Mosaic grant by the NWO (the Dutch Organization for Scientific Research) to carry out a four year doctoral research. After finishing her PhD she has written her own book about Political Networks and Social Movements in Bolivia. Sign up on our website or via the app.
